16 years ago, David Beckham arrived in the United States to revolutionize Major League Soccer as a member of the Los Angeles Galaxy.
In his first road trip in the summer of 2007, ticket sales were high, although not on the same level as the recent game.
Unfortunately, Beckham was unable to debut due to a sore ankle.
The arrival of Lionel Messi with Inter Miami CF at Toyota Stadium surpassed any event FC Dallas has ever hosted and possibly ever will host.
On a hot Sunday night, which required an 8:30 pm start time, FC Dallas held two two-goal leads in the second half.
Fans were clearly riled up over Messi’s presence, as fights broke out throughout the match. One such fight was caught on video.

However, it was Messi who stole the show, single-handedly bringing his team back into the game and helping Miami win a shootout 5-3 after a 4-4 draw in regulation.
The extent of his influence on the MLS will be determined over time, as we observe the outcome of the league’s unique TV agreement. However, there was one specific occasion where his impact was more easily measurable. While the normal ticket price for FC Dallas games is reported to be $45, on Sunday, the average price on the secondary market soared to $864.
Messi is getting everyone up in arms.
