Houston Texans wide receiver Tank Dell was involved in a shooting at a nightclub in Sanford, Florida, resulting in a minor injury for him among ten other individuals injured.
The incident occurred early Sunday morning at the Cabana Live event venue, where security camera footage captured a fight escalating into gunfire.
The Seminole County Sheriff’s Office released the footage, showing the moment when Dell was caught between the initial shooter, a 16-year-old male, and another individual returning fire.

According to the sheriff’s office, deputies arrived at the venue just after midnight for a routine patrol and were met by an armed security guard who had apprehended the young suspect. The guard’s actions were praised by Sheriff Dennis Lemma as “heroic” for tackling the suspect, disarming him, and facilitating his arrest.
Despite the presence of ten armed security guards and a no-firearms policy at the event, the teenager managed to bring a handgun into the venue, a matter which is under investigation.
In a statement released Sunday, the Texans announced that Dell had been discharged from the hospital and was in good spirits. “We have been made aware that Tank Dell was a victim of a shooting in Sanford, Fla. last night. He sustained a minor wound but has been released from the hospital, and he is in good spirits,” the statement read. “We are in contact with him and his family and will provide more updates when appropriate, but we ask that you please respect his privacy at this time. Our thoughts and prayers are with everyone involved in this incident.”
