Women’s basketball is at an all time high thanks to Caitlin Clark.
After more than 50 years, Caitlin Clark shattered yet another record during the Iowa Hawkeyes vs. Ohio State Buckeyes game on Sunday afternoon, solidifying her status as one of the greatest scorers in NCAA Division I history.
The senior guard surpassed Pete Maravich to become the all-time leading scorer in NCAA Division I for both men and women, adding to her remarkable achievements. Clark’s remarkable feat was celebrated by none other than Vanessa Bryant, the late Kobe Bryant’s wife, who congratulated the player on Instagram.
Sporting vintage basketball sneakers from Kobe Bryant’s brand line, Caitlin Clark broke Maravich’s scoring record in style, donning the Nike Kobe 6 “Playoff Pack – Del Sol” colorway. These exclusive kicks, priced at $180, are highly sought after, with resale prices soaring above $600 due to their limited availability and iconic design.

The “Del Sol” colorway pays homage to the original ‘Playoff Pack’ introduced in 2011, featuring a white faux snakeskin upper with gold accents and contrasting black Swoosh emblems. Clark’s affinity for Nike Kobe models has made her a standout ambassador for women’s basketball footwear, with her attacking prowess perfectly complemented by the colors of Iowa’s school.
In recent weeks, Clark has achieved remarkable milestones, surpassing Kelsey Plum’s NCAA women’s points record on February 15 and overtaking Lynette Woodward’s record on February 28. With her sights set on the 2024 WNBA Draft, where she will forgo her remaining college eligibility, Clark is poised to make an impact at the professional level.
The draft, scheduled for April 15 at the Brooklyn Academy of Music, will see the Indiana Fever holding the coveted first pick.
