You’re allowed to celebrate a national championship, but not too much. Some UConn students are learning that the hard way.
Several University of Connecticut students have been expelled for committing acts of vandalism during the celebrations of the National Championship win of the Huskies men’s basketball team.
The vandalism caused significant damage including smashed windows, the overturning of a van, and damage to poles and signs This led to losses totaling thousands of dollars. At least 12 people were arrested. The school has not disclosed the exact number of expelled UConn students. However, they have confirmed that some reviews had concluded with expulsions.

UConn, which finished the season with a 31-8 record, clinched its fifth national championship in the men’s basketball program by defeating San Diego State Aztecs 76-59 on April 3rd. The team will attempt to become the champions for the second consecutive time.
