Trailing 3-2 in the first-round Eastern Conference playoff series, the Sixers now head back to Philadelphia for Game 6 on Thursday. In a heroic effort, Sixers guard Tyrese Maxey scored a playoff career-high of 46 points, with the most crucial three coming from a 34-foot shot with just 15.1 seconds left in regulation. This deep three tied the game at 97 and pushed the contest into overtime.
This game-tying moment capped a quick 7-point burst by Maxey in the final 11 seconds of the fourth quarter.

Continuing his stellar performance in overtime, Maxey hit another key three-pointer, his seventh of the night, and contributed significantly with 22 of his 46 points coming in the fourth quarter and overtime. He also added nine assists and five rebounds to his impressive stat line.
Joel Embiid also stood out with a triple-double, registering 19 points, 16 rebounds, 10 assists, and four blocks. Tobias Harris supported with 19 points and eight rebounds. On the Knicks side, Jalen Brunson led his team with 40 points and six assists, while Josh Hart contributed 18 points and nine rebounds.
After their victory, Maxey shared a moment with Embiid, saying, “Two more,” signaling their focus on the remaining games needed to win the series. He also shared a glimpse into his reaction after making the game-tying shot, though he didn’t delve into specifics.
The series returns to Philadelphia for Game 6 on Thursday.
