New England Patriots wide receiver JuJu Smith-Schuster recently became the center of a social media frenzy when he accidentally shared a selfie that exposed more than intended.
The 27-year-old NFL star posted an image of himself in a vehicle with a female friend which inadvertently revealed his private parts.
Although he quickly deleted the photo, it was too late to prevent it from being captured and circulated by numerous followers.
Among those who commented on the mishap was Tyreek Hill, wide receiver for the Miami Dolphins, who brought humor to the situation upon his return to social media platform X (formerly Twitter). Hill quipped, “I get back on Twitter, and the first thing I see is JuJu got a deal with Vienna Sausages,” followed by three laughing emojis. This comment is a testament to Hill’s notoriously playful personality.
The incident occurred as Smith-Schuster was actively sharing various aspects of his evening, including dinner snapshots and a video with his girlfriend. Selecting the wrong photo to share seemed to be an innocent mistake, albeit one that briefly sent fans into a whirlwind of disbelief.
Despite the online commotion, it is unlikely that Smith-Schuster will face any significant repercussions from the incident.
In his professional career, Smith-Schuster recently signed a three-year contract with the Patriots worth approximately $25.5 million, following a successful season with the Kansas City Chiefs where he contributed to their Super Bowl victory. Last season, he recorded 29 receptions for 260 yards and one touchdown over 11 games, as reported by ESPN.com. His season was cut short by an ankle injury that placed him on injured reserve in Week 14, after missing two games due to concussion protocol.
With the Patriots undergoing significant changes, including parting ways with former head coach Bill Belichick in January, Smith-Schuster is heading into a pivotal year under new leadership.
