During an appearance on “The Pivot Podcast,” New York Giants wide receiver Malik Nabers disclosed that he and Washington Commanders quarterback Jayden Daniels have placed a significant wager on their rookie performances.
The bet hinges on which of the two former LSU standouts will win Offensive Rookie of the Year; the loser owes the winner $10,000.
“Going against him is gonna be fun,” Nabers explained, according to the New York Daily News. “We got a bet going for Rookie of the Year. Whoever loses gotta pay, I think it’s $10,000 cash.”

Nabers, selected as the No. 6 pick in this year’s NFL draft, is anticipated to be a key player in the Giants’ offense. Meanwhile, Daniels, having secured the starting quarterback position for the Commanders after a Heisman Trophy-winning season, is set to lead Washington’s offensive efforts.
Currently, the favorite to win Offensive Rookie of the Year is Chicago Bears quarterback Caleb Williams, with odds of +200, followed by Arizona Cardinals wide receiver Marvin Harrison Jr. at +600. Daniels holds promising odds at +900, while Nabers is a bit further back at +1400, indicating he would need a standout season to clinch the title.
Both Daniels and Nabers will have ample opportunity to showcase their talents against one another, as they will meet twice in the upcoming season due to both teams being in the NFC East.
