Changes for the Cincinnati Bengasls?
Two stars for the Bengals have reportedly requested trades according to ESPN’s Adam Schefter.
“Bengals three-time Pro-Bowl DE Trey Hendrickson has requested to be traded from Cincinnati, per league source. Hendrickson is due to make $15 million this season, and is looking for more long-term security than Cincinnati has been willing to offer.”
“Bengals franchise WR Tee Higgins also has requested to be traded being that there have been no contract talks with the team now in over a year.”
Bengals wide receiver Tee Higgins has been the subject of trade rumors for quite some time now, despite saying he expects to play for the Bengals in 2024.
The Bengals had applied the franchise tag to Higgins in February with hopes of negotiating a contract extension.
However, Higgins sought a trade in March.
Since then, there hasn’t been any progress on the trade front, and Higgins had reconciled with the prospect of staying in Cincinnati.

The trade request by Trey Hendrickson comes as a bit more of a surprise.
A three-time Pro Bowl defensive end, Hendrickson Hendrickson has two years remaining on his current deal and is set to make $15 million in 2024.
Hendrickson had a standout season, notching 17.5 sacks, the second-highest in the NFL, along with 16 tackles for loss and 25 quarterback hits. He also secured his third consecutive Pro Bowl selection.
During his tenure with Cincinnati spanning three seasons, the former first-round pick has amassed a total of 39.5 sacks, 34 tackles for loss, and 76 quarterback hits across 48 games.
This is certainly not great timing for the Bengals as they prepare for the NFL draft beginning Thursday night.
The Bengals currently hold the 18th overall pick in the 2024 NFL draft.
