Travis Kelce is deeply concerned for the safety of his girlfriend, Taylor Swift, following a near-miss terrorist attack at one of her Eras Tour shows in Vienna, Austria.
Sources close to the Kansas City Chiefs star reveal that Kelce was quick to reach out to Swift as soon as the news broke via Page Six, expressing his worries and offering his support.
Despite his concern, Kelce remains committed to his NFL duties and does not have plans to immediately fly to Europe to be by Swift’s side. The Chiefs tight end is currently immersed in training camp as he and his teammates gear up for the upcoming 2024 football season, set to begin on September 5.
The alarming incident in Vienna unfolded on Wednesday when Austrian authorities apprehended two suspects, aged 19 and 17, who had allegedly set their sights on targeting Swift’s concert as part of a radicalized plot linked to ISIS.
Reports from Austrian news outlet Kronen Zeitung suggest that the teens had been indoctrinated by ISIS online and had sworn allegiance to the Islamic State as recently as July.
A police raid at the home of one of the suspects, who was still living with his parents, uncovered a collection of chemicals and substances believed to be intended for the creation of explosives.
Further details emerged on Thursday, revealing that the two young men had planned a horrifying attack that involved driving a bomb-laden vehicle into the crowd at Ernst Happel Stadium, with the aim of causing mass casualties.

Chillingly, the suspects had been hired to work as security personnel inside the venue, where they allegedly intended to further their deadly plot by using self-made explosives and machetes against concertgoers. Thankfully, their plans were thwarted, and the suspects are now in police custody.
In light of the grave threat, Swift’s team made the difficult decision to cancel all three of her scheduled shows in Vienna, which were to take place on Thursday, Friday, and Saturday. Concert organizer Barracuda Music confirmed the cancellations via Instagram, citing the confirmed threat and the necessity of prioritizing the safety of everyone involved.
Swift has yet to publicly address the harrowing situation, but insiders suggest that Kelce has been a source of comfort for the Grammy-winning artist during this unsettling time.
The couple, who have been dating for over a year and are reportedly considering marriage, have shared several moments of togetherness during Swift’s Eras Tour, with Kelce attending multiple shows overseas whenever his NFL schedule allowed.
The Vienna incident is not the first time the pair has faced a frightening situation during the tour. Just recently, while attending Swift’s concert in Germany, they were confronted with another alarming event—a 34-year-old American man was arrested for allegedly stalking Swift and making threats against Kelce.
As Swift continues her European leg of the tour, with four more shows scheduled in London this month, the star remains focused on her performances despite the challenges.
Following her shows in Europe, she will head to Toronto and continue touring until December, with Kelce likely supporting her as much as his football commitments allow.
