Travis Kelce’s NFL season is ongoing, but his personal trainer, Andrew Spruill, is already planning for the upcoming offseason. Spruill, who owns Game Speed Trainer in Boca Raton, Florida, revealed to The Palm Beach Post that Kelce, 34, has rented a home in the area for two months to undergo offseason training. This marks the seventh time in the last 11 NFL offseasons that Kelce has worked with Spruill, and the trainer expects him to return once again this winter.
“According to him, he’s coming back,” said Spruill of Kelce, who has been a starter for the Kansas City Chiefs in all 14 games of the current season. “I trust he’ll be back, especially if he wants to keep playing at the age he is. He needs to get in the gym and make sure he’s ready.”

Having encountered Kelce’s girlfriend, Taylor Swift, at post-game parties following both games this season, Spruill engaged in conversations with the singing icon. Despite the interactions, the 39-year-old, who previously served in the Air Force stationed in Germany, has not extended an offer to provide his services to Swift. Spruill believes he could assist Swift in maintaining her performance stamina, drawing on his expertise and experience.
“I’ll see her next month,’’ Spruill said of the “Style” singer. “I met her twice. Maybe I can talk to her about her workout routine and see if she needs help. I read where she talked about it, the different things she does to work out. She has a workout routine where she runs on a treadmill and sprints while trying to sing her songs.’’
While Kelce’s successful NFL career has been in the spotlight this season due to his high-profile romance with Taylor Swift, Spruill commented on the impact of injuries on Kelce’s on-field performance this year. The Chiefs, the defending Super Bowl champions, are still working to secure a playoff position as they prepare to face the Cincinnati Bengals on Sunday.
Spruill, an Air Force veteran who has worked with numerous professional athletes, shared insights into Kelce’s health challenges this season, noting, “He started off hurt and missed game one. Two days before the game, he hyperextended his knee at practice. He started off already on an injured note to where he’s never dealt with.” Despite these challenges, Kelce has enjoyed a remarkable NFL career, winning two Super Bowls and earning eight All-Pro team selections in his 11 seasons.
As Kelce approaches the latter part of his career, he has privately contemplated retirement, as he revealed in a recent interview with WSJ. Magazine. The tight end acknowledged the discomfort, pain, and lingering injuries from the 10 surgeries he has undergone, stating that he still feels the effects of each surgery to this day.
While Kelce may have appeared a bit sluggish this season, possibly due to aging, he recognizes the need for dedication during the offseason to continue his productivity in the later stages of his career.
