Travis Kelce was spotted by eagle-eyed Taylor Swift fans at her show in Gelsenkirchen, Germany on Wednesday.
Kelce was seen wearing a checkered green Nike shirt and a baseball cap as he watched his girlfriend perform at the Veltins Arena, home of soccer team FC Schalke.
This is the 13th show that Kelce has attended, fueling speculation of a significant moment since the number 13 is famously Swift’s favorite.
All of this was happening as training camp officially got underway for the Kansas City Chiefs back in the United States.
Although Kelce, as a veteran player, doesn’t need to report to camp for another three days, other seasoned pros like Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes showed up on the first day. Rookies were required to report for training camp on July 16. Mahomes even got some passes off in practice, with video showing him throwing a pass to former Welsh rugby star Louis Rees-Zammit.
Kelce has been busy following Swift around Europe this summer, catching shows in various locations. This includes one show in Paris, three in London, one in Dublin, and two of her three shows in Amsterdam. The three-time Super Bowl winner has enjoyed several of Swift’s Eras Tour shows during the international legs of the sold-out global tour, even making an on-stage appearance himself.

However, Kelce’s coach, Andy Reid, humorously suggested that the football star could be doing more than just enjoying the performances in the VIP tent. “He can be hanging out there and be the support or the waterboy, so he can do that,” Reid said on The Athletic’s Scoop City podcast.
Kelce sent the London fans wild on Night 3 of Swift’s sold-out Eras Tour show when he appeared on stage as part of the backup dance crew. As the 90,000-strong crowd screamed, he even swooped Swift off her feet and carried her across the stage.
Reid has previously dismissed concerns about the extra attention surrounding Kelce as training camp got underway. “I think it’s great for him. He can handle it. As a matter of fact, I think he probably loves it to a point. I think there’s a great escape for him,” Reid said of Kelce’s fame while talking to hosts Dianna Russini and Chase Daniel.
“I said that about Taylor, too. I mean, she comes to the game, she can kind of escape having to be the show. When he goes to her concerts, she’s the star,” he continued.
Reid also mentioned the popularity of Travis and his brother Jason Kelce’s podcast, “New Heights with Jason and Travis Kelce,” saying, “That podcast of theirs is ridiculous, so he’s gotten a lot of notoriety for that.”
“He’s an outgoing guy. I mean, he comes into a room, he’s going to light the room up. Everybody’s his best friend. Until you prove him wrong, everybody’s a friend,” Reid added about Travis. “He can handle it; it’s not something that he’s been given that he can’t handle,” he insisted.
With training camp just around the corner, it will be interesting to see how Kelce balances his off-field activities with his preparation for the upcoming NFL season.
