Kansas City Chiefs stars Patrick Mahomes, Travis Kelce, and Marquise Brown attended Game 3 of the Dallas Mavericks vs. Minnesota Timberwolves game on Sunday night.
Travis Kelce, seated between Mahomes and Brown, sported a striking outfit consisting of patterned blue pants, a white T-shirt with a big red apple on it, and sunglasses—despite being indoors.
While Mahomes, a Texas native and avid Mavericks fan, received cheers from the Dallas crowd, Kelce was booed.
The Kansas City Chiefs tight end appeared surprised by the reaction.
Travis Kelce got boo’d and the crowd went crazy for Patrick Mahomes.
Earlier this week, Kelce attended Kansas City Chiefs OTAs and addressed Harrison Butker’s controversial commencement speech.
Kelce stated,
“I cherish him as a teammate. I think Pat [Mahomes] said it best where he is every bit of a great person and a great teammate. . . . He’s treated family and family that I’ve introduced to him with nothing but respect and kindness. And that’s how he treats everyone. When it comes down to his views and what he said at [the] commencement speech, those are his. I can’t say I agree with the majority of it or just about any of it outside of just him loving his family and his kids. And I don’t think that I should judge him by his views, especially his religious views, of how to go about life, that’s just not who I am.”
As for the game, Mahomes went home a happy camper as the Mavericks took home the victory and are now one game away from the NBA Finals with a 3-0 lead in the series.
NBA teams leading 3-0 in a playoff series are 154-0 all-time so history is certainly on the side of the Mavs to represent the Western Conference in the NBA Finals.
