Travis Kelce played coy when Jason Sudeikis cheekily inquired about his plans to propose to girlfriend Taylor Swift during the Big Slick Celebrity Weekend charity event in Kansas City on Saturday night.
The Chiefs tight end and the “Ted Lasso” actor teamed up for a skit, where Sudeikis, in character with a fake mustache, aviator shades, and a cap, asked Kelce some pointed questions.
“Hey Travis, real talk OK, just the guys here,” Sudeikis began. “Hey … when are you going to make an honest woman out of her?” he asked, referring to Swift.
The crowd at the T-Mobile Center cheered as Kelce smiled and rubbed his face, but he didn’t offer a comment.
Sudeikis continued,
“Taylor doesn’t need to be working anymore,” and added humorously, “I know your kicker agrees with me.”
This line drew loud applause from the audience, referencing Kelce’s teammate, Harrison Butker, who had been criticized for suggesting female college graduates should prioritize being “homemakers” over careers.
Earlier in the evening, a social media clip showed Kelce hyping himself up backstage, saying,
“It’s about to get crazy. This is going to get f**king crazy. I don’t know what I’m ready for right now, but I’m ready to have some fun.”
Patrick Mahomes, Kelce’s teammate, was also present to support the charity event, along with celebrities like Paul Rudd, Fortune Feimster, Eric Stonestreet, and Heidi Gardner.
This playful interaction comes a few weeks after a source claimed Kelce has no immediate plans to propose to Swift.
“Travis has no plans on proposing to Taylor,” an insider told Us Weekly.
“It’s not even on his radar. Marriage is something he takes very seriously and not something he would ever just jump into without giving it some careful consideration.”
