The ongoing banter between Aaron Rodgers and Travis Kelce has added another chapter to their potential rivalry, with Kelce scoring a subtle yet impactful point in their exchange.
In a recent interview with the Wall Street Journal, the 34-year-old tight end for the Kansas City Chiefs slyly remarked that Tuesdays appear to be the most significant day of Rodgers’ week, a playful dig given that Sundays are traditionally crucial for NFL players.
“Aaron’s always been cool to me. I knew he was trying to have some fun. He’s in a situation where Tuesdays are his game days…. So I get it, man, I’ve been injured too…. Who knows what the guy is going through?” Kelce commented via WSJ.

The playful banter began in early October after Kelce’s Chiefs triumphed over Rodgers’ Jets, leading Rodgers to affectionately label Kelce as “Mr. Pfizer” during an appearance on The Pat McAfee Show.
Despite the ongoing exchange, Rodgers has hinted that Tuesdays may no longer be the highlight of his week. He’s reportedly planning to return to the practice field on December 2, coinciding with his 40th birthday, with the goal of participating in practice for about three weeks before making a potential comeback against the Washington Commanders on Christmas Eve.
However, the Jets’ current position, with two consecutive losses leaving them at 4-6, and the recent benching of Zach Wilson, might pose a challenge for Rodgers’ comeback plans. While Rodgers is eager to return this season, the likelihood of a matchup between him and Kelce may hinge on the Jets’ playoff prospects, making the encounter a potential storyline for next year.
