Travis Kelce had a whirlwind of emotions during his PDA-filled date with Taylor Swift at the New York Yankees vs. Cleveland Guardians game in the Bronx on Monday. The Kansas City Chiefs tight end, 35, opened up about the experience on Wednesday’s episode of his New Heights podcast, which he co-hosts with his brother, Jason Kelce.
As an Ohio native and lifelong Cleveland Guardians fan, Travis found himself in a unique position—cheering for the visiting team while trying to enjoy the game with his superstar girlfriend, Taylor Swift. Reflecting on the outing, Kelce admitted he had “mixed feelings” during the night.
“It was mixed feelings because I was there trying to have some fun with Tay and everybody. All our friends came along too. We had an unbelievable crew with us, just hanging out. It was fun,” Travis said.
However, the fun was tempered by the Guardians’ 2-5 loss to the Yankees. Being an avid Guardians fan, the defeat was hard for him to swallow, even though he tried to keep the mood light during the game.
“Even though the Guards couldn’t pull it off, it was still an exciting game,” he admitted. “It was cool to see Yankee Stadium in person, in a playoff game, in a hostile environment—it didn’t disappoint, man.”
Travis also marveled at the electric atmosphere inside Yankee Stadium, saying, “The Yankees, the fans, the players, everybody involved, man, it was awesome.” Despite his allegiance to Cleveland, he couldn’t help but appreciate the spectacle of playoff baseball in one of the sport’s most iconic venues.
“It’s the Bronx Bombers, and I’m at Yankee Stadium during the playoffs, and I’m over here cheering for the Guards because I’m a Cleveland kid. I want to see Cleveland win a f***ing World Series,” he added, emphasizing the internal struggle of rooting for his team while being surrounded by Yankees fans.

Despite his Guardians’ loss, the couple seemed to enjoy their night out, keeping things casual and low-key in their VIP box. Travis and Swift were spotted engaging in some sweet PDA throughout the game, with Swift even feeding him popcorn at one point.
Swift, 34, dressed stylishly for the occasion, donning a brown sweater and black mini skirt under an oversized blazer, paired with a black baseball cap. Travis kept it laid-back as well, wearing a Midnight Rodeo hat and a bomber jacket over a white T-shirt.
The baseball game was just one part of a romantic weekend in New York City for the couple. On Saturday night, the lovebirds were spotted holding hands as they arrived at Major Food Group’s Italian restaurant, Torrisi, for an intimate dinner.
They were seen leaving the restaurant looking affectionate, as if they had just been making out, adding fuel to the ongoing buzz around their relationship.
The night before, Swift and Kelce enjoyed dinner at The Corner Store in Soho, accompanied by Swift’s close friends, Blake Lively and Ryan Reynolds. The two have been seen out and about in the city, looking smitten with each other, and continuing to capture the attention of fans and media alike.
Travis Kelce’s weekend in New York, filled with romance and mixed emotions over his team’s loss, shows that even sports superstars have to juggle personal and professional passions. But with Taylor Swift by his side, it seems like Kelce is navigating it all with a smile.
