Fame can be a real burden sometimes.
Travis Kelce is enjoying a blissful relationship with Taylor Swift, but he might want to take a closer look at his finances before they spiral out of control.
Reports indicate that the Kansas City Chiefs tight end owes over $100,000 in unpaid taxes in his home state of Ohio.
Over the past seven years, Kelce has accumulated a substantial tax debt exceeding $200,000, stemming from liens in 2016, 2017, and 2018, as reported by Katherine Schaffstall of In Touch. Specifically, he has state tax liens from Ohio for $64,198 in 2018, $46,579 in 2017, and an additional $909 in 2018.
Travis Kelce is a millionaire thanks to his career in the NFL, though he had faced financial troubles in the past. Over the past seven years, he has amassed more than $200,000 in back taxes stemming from 2016, 2017 and 2018 liens, In Touch can exclusively confirm.
The Kansas City Chiefs player, 33, has a state tax lien from his home state of Ohio for $46,579 from June 2016.
Apart from his financial concerns, Kelce has faced six vehicle-related infractions since 2011, all occurring in Ohio. These infractions primarily involve speeding and seat belt violations, and Kelce has pleaded guilty to all of them.
Currently under contract with Kansas City through the 2025 season, Kelce is slated to earn a base salary of $11.3 million in 2023. Over his 11-year NFL career, he has amassed a staggering $77 million in earnings.
Hailing from the University of Cincinnati, Kelce stands as one of the NFL’s premier tight ends, boasting an impressive career. While he missed the Chiefs’ season-opening loss to the Detroit Lions due to a hyperextended knee, he has since returned and contributed to two consecutive victories.
Kelce’s association with the Chiefs dates back to 2013 when they drafted him in the third round. At 33 years old, he is a two-time Super Bowl champion, widely regarded as one of the NFL’s top talents, and has been romantically linked with pop music sensation Taylor Swift.
