The Kansas City Chiefs, aiming for a historic third consecutive Super Bowl win in 2024, are actively seeking reinforcements to bolster their roster. Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce has taken on the role of recruiter in this pursuit.
Following the retirement of legendary NFL defensive lineman Aaron Donald after the 2023 season, Kelce wasted no time expressing his interest in recruiting Donald to join the Chiefs for the upcoming season. Despite Donald’s declaration to Rams head coach Sean McVay that he was content with his career, Kelce sees an opportunity to entice him back onto the field.
On his podcast, Kelce announced his intention to recruit Donald, suggesting the possibility of joining the Chiefs later in the year, possibly in December, for a Super Bowl push.
Kelce’s pitch to Donald emphasized the Chiefs’ potential for another championship run, offering an enticing opportunity for Donald to pursue one more Super Bowl title.

“If you want to win one more, uh, Super Bowl. Just, uh… we’ll probably… have some availability somewhere in December,” Kelce said.
While the notion of Donald returning from retirement, especially to play for a team other than the Rams, may seem improbable, the Chiefs represent a compelling option for him to chase further success.
For now, however, Donald appears content to relish in the retirement lifestyle, leaving the possibility of his return to the gridiron uncertain.
