Travis Kelce showed his amusement when former Kansas City Chiefs teammate Chase Daniel brought up the playful theory of “invisible strings” that supposedly connected him and Taylor Swift before they even started dating.
This conversation sparked when Daniel shared a tweet from a Swift fan page.
The tweet showcased a photo of Swift in front of a Chiefs sign and another of Daniel with his wife and Swift, all smiling beside a Chiefs jersey. The caption highlighted a quirky coincidence, noting that Daniel, who helped Kelce score his first NFL touchdown, had once given Swift a Chiefs jersey during her 2015 tour.
Responding to his unexpected role in this narrative, Daniel posted on Instagram with a mix of humor and mild exasperation, “My name is in quotations, it’s not capitalized. I’m a real person, first and foremost, out here in the flesh. Yes, me and my wife Hillary gave Taylor Swift a jersey in 2015 on her tour. Yes, she was super nice. Yes, she is now dating Travis Kelce – invisible strings, maybe? That’s what I’m hearing, that’s what my wife’s telling me. But I’m a real person, you don’t have to put me in quotations. That’s hilarious. Yes, I threw Travis’ first touchdown. And yes, I’m taking full credit for introducing them through these invisible strings.”
Kelce reacted to Daniel’s comment with a string of laughing emojis and clapping hands, appreciating the humor in the situation. Daniel playfully replied to Kelce, “Bro how funny is this?”

Swift’s fans, known for their keen eye for detail, often explore the deeper meanings in her lyrics and link them to real-life events.
They reference her song “Invisible String” from the 2020 “Folklore” album, among other lyrics, as evidence of fate connecting Swift and Kelce long before they met. Swift’s lyrics muse on the serendipity of such connections: “Were there clues I didn’t see? / And isn’t it just so pretty to think / All along there was some / Invisible string / Tying you to me?”
Swifties also point to various coincidences like both Swift and Kelce being born in 1989, their mutual friend Miles Teller, and a whimsical link involving Kelce tweeting about squirrels in 2011 and Swift dressing up as a squirrel for Halloween ten years later.
Kelce and Swift, who officially became a couple in the summer of 2023, have since been visible supporters of each other’s careers.
Swift attended many of Kelce’s games during the NFL season, and Kelce has been spotted at several of her concert dates, showing mutual admiration and support as their relationship grows.
