The NFL season is just around the corner, and Kansas City Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce is gearing up for more than just football.
Shortly after the season kicks off, Kelce will make his acting debut in the highly anticipated FX original series Grotesquerie.
This week, fans got their first glimpse of the series with the release of a teaser trailer. Kelce is set to play a starring role, though details about his character remain a mystery. The horror series is slated to premiere on September 25 on FX and will also be available for streaming on Hulu and Disney+.
In the brief teaser, Kelce makes a fleeting appearance, visible for just a single frame. In this quick shot, he appears to be making a gesture with his hands, which might hold spiritual significance within the context of the show.

FX has been notably secretive about Grotesquerie, but they did provide a synopsis to The Hollywood Reporter:
“A series of heinous crimes have unsettled a small community. Detective Lois Tryon (Emmy winner Niecy Nash-Betts) feels these crimes are eerily personal, as if someone — or something — is taunting her. At home, Lois grapples with a strained relationship with her daughter (Raven Goodwin), a husband (Emmy winner Courtney B. Vance) in long-term hospital care, and her own inner demons. With no leads and unsure of where to turn, she accepts the help of Sister Megan (Micaela Diamond), a nun and journalist with the Catholic Guardian. Sister Megan, with her own difficult past, has seen the worst of humanity, yet she still believes in its capacity for good. Lois, on the other hand, fears the world is succumbing to evil. As Lois and Sister Megan string together clues, they find themselves ensnared in a sinister web that only seems to raise more questions than answers.”
Kelce’s name isn’t mentioned in the official synopsis, suggesting that while he might not be a central character, his role could still be significant. It remains to be seen how much screen time Kelce will actually get, but his involvement has certainly piqued the interest of both football fans and horror enthusiasts alike.
While it’s unclear how large a part Kelce will play in Grotesquerie, his foray into acting could mark the beginning of a new chapter in his career. Sometimes, it only takes one breakout role to open the door to future opportunities in Hollywood.
