Travis Kelce’s venture into Hollywood takes a significant leap with his inaugural major acting role: starring in Ryan Murphy’s highly anticipated FX horror series, “Grotesquerie,” according to Deadline.
Sources reveal that the NFL star, also renowned globally for his association with Taylor Swift, joins esteemed actors Niecy Nash-Betts, Courtney B. Vance, and Lesley Manville in the forthcoming series, which has recently commenced production.
FX, Murphy, and the production studio, 20th Television, refrained from providing comments.

True to Murphy’s style, details about “Grotesquerie” remain elusive, with only Nash-Betts, Vance, and Manville confirmed in the cast of this enigmatic drama, set for a fall debut.
The premiere of the series is anticipated to align with the upcoming football season, marking Travis Kelce’s return to the Kansas City Chiefs following the team’s third Super Bowl victory in five years, with Kelce playing a pivotal role as tight end.
Grotesquerie serves as a continuation of Kelce’s venture into acting, following his debut as host on Saturday Night Live in March 2023.
Additionally, he made a cameo appearance alongside Taylor Swift on the NBC late-night sketch comedy series last fall.
Travis Kelce’s global prominence, largely propelled by his high-profile relationship with Swift, has made him a sought-after figure.
Since joining CAA last year, he’s been vocal about his aspirations in Hollywood, diversifying his portfolio.
While he initially tested the waters in unscripted TV with his dating series “Catching Kelce” in 2016, which ran for one season, Kelce has recently taken on the role of host for Amazon’s “Are You Smarter Than a Celebrity?” game show.
Alongside these ventures, his podcast, “New Heights,” co-hosted with his brother Jason Kelce, has gained traction.
Additionally, Kelce made his debut as an executive producer on the indie film “My Dead Friend Zoe,” premiered at SXSW.
He’s also slated to produce a documentary on artist Jean-Michel Basquiat titled “King Pleasure.”
“Grotesquerie,” a collaboration between Murphy, Jon Robin Baitz, and Joe Baken, teased audiences with an all-text preview in February, featuring an evocative monologue by Nash-Betts’ character hinting at an impending shift in the world’s dynamics.
