Travis Kelce is acknowledging the role Erin Andrews and Charissa Thompson played in the speculation surrounding his alleged relationship with Taylor Swift.
In an episode of their podcast “Calm Down with Erin and Charissa” from early August, which they reposted on Sunday, the NFL broadcasters advocated for the idea that the Kansas City Chiefs’ tight end and the pop superstar should consider dating.
“Taylor, I don’t know what you are doing in your life right now besides rocking the world,” Andrews, said. “Please try our friend Travis. He is fantastic.”
She added, “This is one Taylor, I know we’re not the best of friends, we’re not even friends, but I consider you one. Take us up on this. Go on a date with this guy. Do it for America.”
Thompson agreed. “Do it for yourself, do it for us and do it for the people because there is no one that would give you a better time than this guy.”
In response to the Instagram clip, Kelce attributed any assistance he received to the duo.
In July, the NFL star initially hinted at his interest in Taylor Swift, who is 33 years old.
Following his attendance at her Eras Tour concert in Kansas City, Missouri, the tight end discussed the experience on his podcast “New Heights with Jason and Travis Kelce.” During the podcast, he expressed his desire to meet her and potentially exchange phone numbers.
“If you’re up on Taylor Swift concerts, there are friendship bracelets, and I received a bunch of them being there, but I wanted to give Taylor Swift one with my number on it,” the Chiefs superstar said on the podcast.
“I was disappointed that she doesn’t talk before or after her shows because she has to save her voice for the 44 songs that she sings,” Travis explained, saying that he was initially “a little butthurt” that his plan did not work out.
The couple eventually managed to connect, with Swift attending Chiefs games in Kansas City. They were spotted together at an after-party and most recently at the Chiefs-Jets game in New Jersey on Sunday.
According to a source, after Sunday night’s game, Swift and Kelce are “still just getting to know each other,” and their relationship is “nothing too serious” at this point.
