Travis Kelce couldn’t hold back his admiration as he praised his girlfriend, Taylor Swift, for concluding her monumental Eras Tour, a nearly two-year-long journey that spanned continents and shattered records. Although the Kansas City Chiefs tight end wasn’t able to attend her final performances, he made sure to highlight her extraordinary achievement during Wednesday’s episode of the New Heights podcast, which he co-hosts with his brother, Jason Kelce.
“Shout out to Tay, the unbelievable Eras Tour has finally come to an end!” Travis, 35, said enthusiastically, kicking off the episode with a nod to Swift’s hard work. When Jason, 37, asked how long the tour had lasted, Travis reflected on its duration.
“It was almost two years,” he said, noting the tour began in March 2023, the same year the Chiefs clinched victory at Super Bowl LVII against the Philadelphia Eagles.
Celebrating a Global Phenomenon
The Kelce brothers marveled at the sheer magnitude of Swift’s feat, with Jason calling the 149-show, five-continent journey “absolutely insane.” Travis added, “Shoutout to Tay and everyone that was a part of that show. Obviously, it’s her show, her music, her tour, and everything, but that was a full production. That was the best tour in the world because of a lot of people, but most because of Taylor.”
While Travis wasn’t in attendance for Swift’s final shows in Vancouver over the weekend due to the Chiefs’ game against the Los Angeles Chargers, his admiration was clear.
Taylor’s Emotional Farewell
Swift closed her historic tour on Sunday with heartfelt words to her fans, acknowledging their role in its unparalleled success.
“I want to thank every single one of you for being a part of the most thrilling chapter of my entire life to date — my beloved Eras Tour,” she said before performing “Karma,” according to fan-captured videos shared on X.
Reflecting on the journey, Swift described the tour as “the most exciting, powerful, electrifying, intense, most challenging thing I’ve ever done in my entire life.” She added that over 10 million fans attended the tour, a staggering testament to her global appeal.
Breaking Records and Making History
The Eras Tour not only cemented Swift’s status as a cultural icon but also rewrote the record books. According to The New York Times, the tour grossed over $2 billion in ticket sales, doubling the revenue of any previous concert tour. The tour also propelled Swift into billionaire status by October 2023, with Forbes reporting her net worth at $1.6 billion, largely fueled by her live performances.
Beyond ticket sales, Swift’s success extended to other ventures, including a concert film, a tour book, and the release of her 11th studio album, The Tortured Poets Department.
Travis and Taylor’s Journey
Although Travis couldn’t be there for the finale, he and his family supported Swift throughout the tour. The NFL star attended her concerts 14 times, starting in the summer of 2023 when he initially attempted to give her his number. After their relationship became public in September, Travis became a fixture in the crowd, even making a surprise cameo on stage in London in July 2024.
His family also showed their support, frequently spotted enjoying Swift’s performances from the audience.
Swift reciprocated the love, giving a subtle nod to Travis during Sunday’s concert by playfully mentioning “the guy in the Chiefs” during her performance of “Karma.” Meanwhile, Travis honored her in his own way, decorating his locker for the game with Christmas-themed décor featuring Swift as Mrs. Claus.
