At 34 years old and with 11 seasons under his belt in the NFL, Travis Kelce doesn’t appear to be contemplating retirement anytime soon.
Following his Kansas City Chiefs’ thrilling 25-22 overtime victory against the San Francisco 49ers in Super Bowl LVIII, Kelce took the stage at Allegiant Stadium in Las Vegas, Nevada. Amidst celebrating their back-to-back championships, the Chiefs tight end emphasized his ambition to secure a third consecutive Super Bowl win.
Speaking to Jim Nantz in an interview, Kelce stated, “The goal’s always been to get three. But we couldn’t get here without getting to two. And having that target on our back all year. And I love these guys right here. The men that we just won this thing with … family forever, baby. I can’t be more proud of you guys. And how ’bout it? We get a chance to do it three times in a row!”
Kelce’s resolute words strongly suggest his intention to return for another season.
In contrast, there are rumors circulating about his older brother Jason considering retirement. At 36, Jason, although two years older, continues to play football at a high level, much like his brother Travis.
