Travis Kelce recently made headlines for purchasing a racehorse with a name that bears a striking resemblance to that of his famous girlfriend, Taylor Swift. The Kansas City Chiefs tight end revealed that the horse, named Swift Delivery, caught his attention because of its name, which felt like a serendipitous connection to his relationship with the global pop star.
During an episode of the “New Heights” podcast, hosted by Travis and his brother Jason Kelce, Jason couldn’t resist asking if the name of the horse influenced his decision to buy it. “Did the name prompt interest?” Jason asked. Travis, with a smile, acknowledged that the connection didn’t go unnoticed.
“I will say, when the stars align, it just feels good to jump on board,” Travis admitted, hinting that the name was too perfect to pass up.
The 34-year-old NFL star explained that his venture into horse racing wasn’t solely because of the name but also due to his close friendship with Bruce and Alex Zoldan, who are prominent investors in the sport. Bruce Zoldan, CEO of Phantom Fireworks, and his son had invited Travis to the Kentucky Derby earlier this year, an experience that left a lasting impression on him.
“It was one of the best times ever,” Travis recalled, speaking fondly of the Derby. He noted that while watching the iconic horse racing event, he couldn’t help but think, “Man, that’d be fun to get involved and see one of your horses in the race. That seems like it’d be a fun thing to be a part of.”
After the event, the Zoldan family extended an offer to Travis to co-own the three-year-old gelding, Swift Delivery, which made the decision even easier. Given the name and his friendship with the Zoldans, Travis felt it was a natural fit to get involved. “It made sense to team up with this one — it being Swift Delivery,” he added.

While Travis’ decision to buy the horse had a fun, lighthearted element to it, his approach to racing is more about enjoyment than scrutinizing the finer details of the sport. When Jason jokingly asked if Travis inspected the horse’s heart to gauge its racing potential, Travis laughed, saying, “I’m not in it to look at the size of the hearts.”
Instead, Travis simply appreciated the horse’s racing style, explaining, “I liked the way that Swift Delivery ran. I’ve seen like three or four races that Swift Delivery has been in, and I’ve heard nothing but great reviews.” He described the horse as a “finishing horse,” one that saves its energy for a burst of speed at the end of the race, delivering strong performances when it counts most.
The Super Bowl-winning tight end also shared that Swift Delivery is set to compete in its next race within the next two months, and he’s eager to see how the horse performs.
As for his personal life, Kelce is gearing up for the start of the 2024 NFL season, with the Chiefs’ first game against the Baltimore Ravens. Fans are speculating whether Taylor Swift will be in attendance at Arrowhead Stadium, as she is currently on a break from her record-setting Eras Tour until mid-October. While her attendance remains unconfirmed, Kelce assured his brother Jason that he has a ticket for the game, humorously adding, “All the other tickets are f–king sold.”
Travis and Swift have been together for over a year, and despite rumors of a potential breakup swirling online, the couple’s bond appears strong. Earlier this week, reports of a so-called “breakup plan” began circulating, claiming to outline strategies for the couple’s split. However, Kelce’s team swiftly dismissed the documents as fake.
“These documents are entirely false and fabricated and were not created, issued, or authorized by this agency,” a spokesperson for Full Scope, Kelce’s agency, told Page Six. The alleged documents, which surfaced on Snapchat, appeared to be part of a school project, according to a source close to the situation. The documents detailed supposed strategies for public statements following the couple’s breakup, which were quickly debunked by both parties.
Kelce’s legal team is now pursuing action against the individuals or entities responsible for the forged documents, further solidifying the couple’s united front against false rumors.
The last public sighting of Travis and Taylor was at her Rhode Island home in late August, where they celebrated Blake Lively’s birthday together.
As Kelce continues his NFL career and Swift takes a break from touring, fans of the couple eagerly await their next public appearance, be it at a football game or elsewhere.
