Tony Romo is reiterating a previous comment he made about Taylor Swift, generating buzz for a noticeable mistake on Christmas Day.
Following Travis Kelce’s impressive 24-yard catch and run against the Raiders, Swift was captured celebrating in her suite. In a broadcast slip-up, Romo referred to the Grammy Award winner as Kelce’s wife instead of girlfriend.

“And his wife loves it, I mean, girlfriend,” Romo stated on national television.
Responding to the comment, Romo’s broadcast partner, Jim Nantz, humorously remarked, “You’ve been down that road with that before.”
This isn’t the first time Romo has mistakenly referred to Swift as Kelce’s wife. During the Bills-Chiefs game on December 10, he made a similar slip, prompting Nantz to inquire, “Not yet…you don’t know something we don’t know, do you?”
Should Romo cover another Chiefs game this season, he’ll need to be attentive when commenting on the prominent relationship in sports.
While the amusing mix-up of calling Taylor Swift Travis’ wife has garnered attention, it shifts the focus away from the on-field action. Emphasizing commentary on the game itself rather than the notable individuals supporting Travis Kelce would enhance the viewer’s experience.
