Taylor Swift continues to make waves in the NFL headlines.
NFL Hall of Famer Tony Gonzalez expressed his admiration for both Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce during an appearance on The Kelly Clarkson Show. The former Kansas City Chiefs tight end commended Swift for attracting a “new audience” to the NFL and shared that he recently congratulated Kelce for his latest on-field accomplishment.
When asked about Kelce breaking his record for reaching 11,000 receiving yards in the fewest number of games (154) as a tight end, Gonzalez responded humorously, with Jennifer Garner playfully trying to intercept the question.
Despite the good-natured banter, Gonzalez acknowledged Kelce’s achievement, having also praised him earlier in the month when he broke the franchise record for most receiving yards by a Chiefs player.
Gonzalez, a father of four, shared an amusing anecdote about being recognized by a 10-year-old fan at the airport, highlighting the broader appeal Swift has brought to the NFL.
Reflecting on the impact of Swift’s influence, Gonzalez stated, “But I think it’s great that Taylor’s done this for the NFL, she’s brought a whole new audience, it’s been great.”

Having played in the NFL for 17 seasons, with 12 years for the Chiefs and five for the Atlanta Falcons before retiring in 2013, Gonzalez still holds the NFL record for overall yards by a tight end with 15,127.
