Gisele Bündchen believes that mental well-being is closely tied to what goes on in the kitchen.
During an appearance on “The View” Thursday, the supermodel shared her journey of overcoming “severe depression and panic attacks in [her] early 20s” by making dietary changes.
Reflecting on that challenging period, she admitted, “I had no idea it was correlated with my lifestyle, and food was a big part of it. I wasn’t really paying attention. I was just going 100 miles an hour.”
After seeking help from various specialists and enduring a tumultuous time, Bündchen, now 43, turned to a naturopathic doctor in desperation. Recalling the pivotal moment, she recounted, “He said to me, ‘Gisele, we have to change your diet.’ And I was like, ‘Diet? What does that have to do with panic attacks?’ And he’s like, ‘No, it has everything to do with it.'”

Bündchen, who was then consuming coffee, smoking, and indulging in unhealthy eating habits, realized how her lifestyle was deteriorating her health.
Her transformation began with dietary adjustments, complemented by meditation, yoga, and breath work. She emphasized, “Food, for me, is medicine.”
In a recent interview with WSJ. Magazine, Bündchen elaborated on her current regimen, which includes Pilates, weightlifting, cardio, and outdoor activities like surfing, swimming, horseback riding, and volleyball.
She starts her day with lukewarm water infused with lemon and Celtic salt, followed by eggs if she’s exercised, and occasionally a smoothie, avoiding the “poison” of white sugar.
Though not mentioned in the profile, Bündchen has been practicing jiu-jitsu since 2021 under Joaquim Valente, whom she is now dating.
Formerly married to Tom Brady from 2009 to 2022, they co-parent their children Benjamin, 14, and Vivian, 11. Since their separation, Brady has been romantically linked to model Irina Shayk.
