On Wednesday, the Buffalo Bills finalized a deal to trade star wide receiver Stefon Diggs to the Houston Texans.
In exchange for Diggs, the Bills will receive the Minnesota Vikings’ 2025 second-round pick along with a 2024 sixth-round pick and a 2025 fifth-round pick from the Texans, as reported by ESPN’s Adam Schefter. Diggs, who spent the last four seasons with the Bills, established himself as one of the league’s premier receivers during his time in Buffalo, earning four Pro Bowl selections and one first-team All-Pro nod.
Despite his consistent performance over the years, Diggs experienced a decline in production during the 2023 season, recording 107 catches for 1,183 yards and eight touchdowns, marking his lowest output since joining the Bills.
Interestingly, a viral video surfaced showing Tom Brady predicting Diggs’ departure from Buffalo, indicating a potential departure from the team’s offensive scheme.

Throughout the 2023 season, Diggs showcased a tale of two halves, demonstrating dominance in the first half of the season before experiencing a decline in performance during the latter part.
His struggles continued into the playoffs, further fueling speculation about his future with the Bills despite signing a lucrative contract extension in 2022.
With this trade, the Bills face significant dead-cap implications for the 2024 season, making it a surprising move considering Diggs’ previous contributions to the team.
This transaction adds to the trend of NFL receivers seeking new opportunities, potentially leaving behind their quarterbacks in search of better prospects elsewhere.
