Tom Brady and his ex-wife, Gisele Bündchen, shared separate announcements on Instagram on Saturday, revealing the passing of their family dog, Lua.
In his Instagram stories, the 46-year-old seven-time Super Bowl champion posted a heartfelt tribute. The first story featured a photo of their children, Benjamin (14) and Vivian (11), holding Lua, accompanied by the caption “We love you Lua RIP” and adorned with heart, prayer, and sparkle emojis. Another photo showed Lua basking in the sun with the caption “Forever in our hearts” and a red heart emoji.

Gisele followed with her own tribute, sharing a 10-picture carousel capturing playful moments between Lua and the family. The post began with a photo of Gisele holding the dog, and her caption expressed deep sorrow: “Our little Lulu, our guardian angel is gone to heaven. She will forever live in our hearts. We already miss her sooooo much! #unconditionallove RIPLua.”
Lua, a Pitbull mix, had been an integral part of the family since being adopted by Brady and Bündchen. The dog even appeared in a 2014 Ugg commercial alongside Brady.
The family has faced challenges this year, notably finalizing Brady and Bündchen’s divorce last fall. Gisele acknowledged the difficulties in an earlier interview with People, stating that the separation has been tough for the family: “It’s been a lot — in every area of my life. With all the different twists and turns that life takes, all we can do is the best we can, given what happens in our surroundings.” Gisele has since resettled in Miami with their children.
In an effort to lift their spirits, Brady shared photos of the trio skiing with the caption “I’ll tell you one thing, it’s always better when we’re together.”
Rest in Peace, Lua.
