Tom Brady is responding to critics who question his toughness during his illustrious 23-season NFL career, which included seven Super Bowl championships. In a conversation with Hall of Famer Lawrence Taylor on the Let’s Go podcast, Brady addressed perceptions about his resilience, particularly regarding the number of times he was sacked.
“People think I was a p—y out there,” Brady asserted, discussing the hits he endured throughout his career. “I took every single [hit] and got my ass up! I never wanted a defensive player going home saying, ‘I knocked the s— out of him, and he didn’t get up,’ so I made sure I got up.”

Taylor, the retired New York Giants linebacker, expressed surprise that Brady, considered the GOAT (Greatest of All Time), holds the record for the most sacks in the league, totaling 565. Despite humorously questioning if Brady ever got his pants dirty during a game, Taylor acknowledged Brady’s skills and achievements.
While they agreed on the changing nature of the game, with Taylor admitting he might not survive in today’s NFL, Brady, who awaits his upcoming role as Fox Sports’ lead analyst next year, has been a vocal critic of the current state of the league. Last month, he expressed concerns about the perceived decline in the NFL’s quality, citing issues with coaching and player development.
Brady’s toughness has been a key factor in his success, contributing to his numerous championships and legendary career.
