Not a single one of Tom Brady’s six Super Bowl victories with the New England Patriots made the cut as his ‘greatest football memory.’ Despite spending two decades in Foxborough, where he forged his reputation as one of the greatest quarterbacks of all time, Brady’s top football moment didn’t come from the championships or the iconic highlights he produced while wearing a Patriots jersey.
In a new clip from Brady’s “Let’s Go!” podcast, the legendary quarterback shared that his ‘greatest football memory’ was seeing his oldest son, Jack, after the 2021 NFC Championship game, when the Tampa Bay Buccaneers defeated the Green Bay Packers to secure a spot in the Super Bowl.
“When [Jack] came down and gave me a hug, that was probably one of the greatest days of my life,” Brady said in the clip, which was released on Friday, November 8. The sentimental moment wasn’t just about the victory on the field; it was about sharing a cherished experience with his family.
The scene then played out, showing Brady making his way to the sidelines after the game, where he asked security, “Can I say ‘Hi’ to my son?” Moments later, Jack came rushing down to embrace his father. It was a touching moment that showed a different side of Brady—the father, not just the fierce competitor.
“How about that? We’re going to the Super Bowl,” Brady told Jack, who was 15 at the time. “What do you think? I love you, man. Way to go. I’ll see you. I’ll call you a little bit later.” Jack responded with, “Alright, love you,” and Brady added, “Love you, kiddo.” It was an intimate exchange that highlighted the deep bond between father and son, made even more special by the high-stakes setting of an NFC Championship game.

The Buccaneers went on to dominate the Kansas City Chiefs in the Super Bowl, winning 31-9. The game was a clash between Brady, the seasoned veteran, and the Chiefs’ young rising star, Patrick Mahomes. Brady, at 43, showed his mastery once again, leading the Bucs to a convincing victory and securing his seventh Super Bowl ring.
Brady’s career took an interesting turn afterward. He initially announced his retirement in 2022, only to change his mind and return to play another season with Tampa Bay. Then, in February 2023, Brady announced that he was retiring “for good,” closing the chapter on his legendary career.
The announcement marked the end of an era for the NFL, as one of the sport’s most iconic players finally decided to hang up his cleats.
Since stepping away from the field, Brady has kept himself busy with several high-profile ventures. He signed a lucrative 10-year, $375 million deal to become FOX’s lead NFL analyst, ensuring that his voice will continue to be a part of the game he helped define. In addition to his broadcasting career, Brady also ventured into team ownership.
After a lengthy process, he became a part owner of the Las Vegas Raiders, adding another chapter to his post-playing career.
While many of Brady’s greatest achievements on the field came with the New England Patriots, his most cherished memory did not involve lifting the Lombardi Trophy or throwing a game-winning touchdown.
Instead, it was a quiet, personal moment with his son Jack, a reminder that even for a player who accomplished so much, family remains the most important thing.
Brady’s journey from Foxborough to Tampa Bay and beyond has been filled with incredible highs, but at the end of the day, the moments shared with loved ones are what truly stand out.
