This Thursday marks Tiger Woods’ highly anticipated return to the limelight as he tees off for the Masters, marking his 26th appearance at the Augusta National Golf Club.
During a recent interview on Tuesday morning, Woods was asked about the challenges he faces at Augusta National given his current physical condition. The 15-time major champion didn’t mince words in his response.
“Every shot that’s not on a tee box is a bit of a challenge,” Woods candidly replied.

While this may not be the most reassuring sentiment for those rooting for Woods to secure his sixth green jacket, it’s a reflection of his honest assessment of his capabilities since suffering compound fractures to his right leg in a 2021 car accident.
Woods hasn’t competed in a high-profile event since withdrawing from the Genesis Invitational in February due to flu-like symptoms. Despite nearing the twilight of his illustrious career, Woods remains steadfast in his determination to continue competing at the highest level.
“What drives me is I love to compete. There will come a point in time, I haven’t come around to it fully yet, that I won’t be able to win again,” Woods acknowledged. “When that day comes, I’ll walk.”
With the Masters set to kick off this Thursday, fans will eagerly await Woods’ performance and hope for an intriguing weekend of golf.
