Various reports indicate that Tiger Woods returned to Augusta National on Saturday to prepare for this year’s Masters.
With the highly-anticipated golf major less than two weeks away, social media initially reported that Woods’ private jet landed at Augusta Regional Airport on Saturday morning.
Shortly afterward, both Sports Illustrated’s Bob Harig and the well-known Woods-tracking account TW Legion confirmed that the 15-time major winner had arrived and driven down Magnolia Lane.
Harig reported that Woods was at Augusta National to participate in a practice round with Augusta club chairman Fred Ridley and his close friend and fellow PGA Tour professional Justin Thomas.
Given the famously private nature of Augusta National, it’s improbable that any photographic or video evidence of the round will surface.
However, Woods’ presence in Georgia appears to be part of his preparations ahead of his anticipated return to the Masters next month.
Woods has been in the news quite a bit this week as he was spotted with his ex-wife Elin Nordegren at a ceremony in Palm Beach, Florida for their 15-year-old son, Charlie, who won a high school state golf championship.
