Tiger and Charlie Woods have gained additional family support at the PNC Championship, as Tiger’s 16-year-old daughter, Samantha, takes on the role of their caddy at the Ritz-Carlton Golf Club in Orlando, as reported by Golf Channel’s Todd Lewis.
This isn’t the first time Samantha has played a significant role in Tiger’s golf journey. She delivered an emotional speech at Woods’ 2021 Hall of Fame induction, referencing his harrowing car crash and expressing gratitude for his recovery.
This marks the fourth consecutive year that Tiger and 14-year-old Charlie have participated in the tournament, an annual scramble where golfers team up with a family member. Tiger, currently on the comeback trail after ankle surgery in April, successfully completed the physical challenge of walking all 18 holes on Friday.
In a Q&A on Friday, Tiger shared his motivation for participating, stating, “I felt like I was physically fit to do it, and also, walking is always better for my back. I just wanted to keep it loose and keep it going, and we’re just having so much fun, it doesn’t really matter. We had a good time doing it.”
Expressing his enjoyment of the event, Tiger mentioned, “It’s a blast for us to be back out here, playing and competing and just enjoying this atmosphere. It’s been a blast, and hopefully, we get through the next day or so without any delays, and hopefully, we’re able to post something good.”

In a pre-event interview with NBC, Tiger emphasized how he and Charlie thrive on each other’s competitive spirit. “We’ve fed off of our competitive nature, and we’ve really pushed each other to become better, and it’s just a fun atmosphere. We keep it light, competitive, enjoyable.”
Despite falling short of winning the tournament in 2021, Tiger and Charlie set a course record with 11 consecutive birdies, a remarkable achievement considering Tiger’s recent recovery from a severe car accident. With the promising talents of Charlie and Samantha Woods, Tiger’s legacy appears to be in capable hands.
