Steve Sarkisian, head coach of the Texas Longhorns football team, recently discussed the dynamic between his two highly touted quarterbacks, Quinn Ewers and Arch Manning.
In June 2022, Arch Manning made headlines by announcing his commitment to the University of Texas following meetings with other top programs such as Alabama, LSU, and Georgia.
Arch, whose father is Cooper Manning, is the nephew of NFL icons and former quarterbacks Peyton Manning and Eli Manning.

Before Peyton and Eli Manning rose to NFL stardom, their father Archie Manning had already made a name for himself as a standout quarterback.
Longhorn fans have eagerly anticipated Arch Manning’s debut, but they’ll need to wait another year due to Ewers’ decision to return for another college season.
Despite the natural competition between Manning and Ewers, Steve Sarkisian assured SiriusXM College Sports Radio listeners that the relationship between his two quarterbacks is “healthy.”
“We’re fortunate, I don’t take that for granted. There’s a lot of other schools out there with one guy, and what happens if something happens to him. Again, we’re in a good spot…I think their rapport together, the way they work together and push each other and make each other better, the relationship they have has been very healthy as well.”
Despite widespread projections placing Ewers as a potential first-round pick in the 2024 NFL Draft, he opted to extend his college career for another year.
Barring any unforeseen changes, Arch Manning won’t step into the starting role until 2025, provided Ewers maintains his superstar level of play.
