The Houston Texans didn’t have a first-round pick in the 2024 NFL Draft, so while there was no new player to cheer for on opening night, Texans fans still had plenty to keep them entertained.
Star quarterback C.J. Stroud, coming off a remarkable rookie season that included a playoff win, appeared on Bleacher Report’s live draft coverage alongside Dallas Cowboys standout linebacker Micah Parsons.
The two young stars discussed several topics during their appearance, notably the recent trade that brought wide receiver Stefon Diggs to Houston, stirring up the Texas rivalry. The intrigue of the rivalry is further heightened by Stefon’s brother, Trevon, playing for the Cowboys.
Parsons openly expressed his envy over Houston’s acquisition of Diggs, wishing he had joined the Cowboys instead. The conversation took a playful turn when host Adam Lefkoe asked which team is the best in Texas, prompting Stroud to tease, “You’re trying to create some beef, I like it. You know what it is, I feel like Micah knows who it is, I think Stef knows who it is. But everything has to get figured out on the field.”

Parsons responded humorously to the competitive banter, “They ain’t even got a snap [together]. We’re the best team? What the hell?” He continued to rib Stroud, saying, “You’ve faced some pretty good guys, but you ain’t never seen a killer.”
“You’re sitting on the couch with one,” Stroud shot back, highlighting the friendly yet competitive nature of their interaction.
The Texans and Cowboys are scheduled to face off in Arlington this season, though a specific date has yet to be set. Diggs even suggested a Thanksgiving showdown, which would certainly make for an exciting matchup given the dynamics shared during the livestream.
