Camila Giorgi, a prominent figure in women’s tennis, has reportedly retired from the sport at the age of 32 to focus on her burgeoning career in fashion and lingerie modeling.
Giorgi, known for her powerful style of play, reached a career-high ranking of 26th in the world in 2018, the same year she made it to the quarter-finals at Wimbledon. Beyond the court, she has attracted considerable attention for her ventures off the court, particularly in modeling and through her social media presence, where she boasts over 730,000 followers on Instagram.
Her own fashion brand, Giomila, frequently features her in various outfits ranging from sportswear to lingerie, highlighting her dual career as a tennis player and a fashion entrepreneur. According to reports from Marca, the International Tennis Integrity Agency has listed her status as ‘retired.’

While Giorgi has not formally announced her retirement, she has been absent from professional tennis for nearly two months, last competing against Iga Swiatek at the Miami Open on March 23. Further fueling retirement speculations, Corriere Della Sera reported that she has withdrawn from tennis’ anti-doping program.
Giorgi has occasionally been a controversial figure. In 2018, her candid admission of not following tennis closely made headlines during Wimbledon. More recently, in 2022, she was embroiled in a scandal over allegations of using a fake Covid vaccination certificate to enter the Australian Open, accusations she and her father vehemently denied.
During a press conference addressing these allegations, Giorgi stressed her compliance with all required vaccinations, stating she had received them at various locations and pointing out that the issue lay with the doctor, not her. The situation escalated when her father, Sergio Giorgi, expressed his displeasure with the line of questioning from journalists, asking them to focus on the game instead.
As Giorgi transitions from her athletic career to a focus on fashion, her multifaceted persona continues to capture public interest, marking a new chapter for the former tennis star.
