Is Taylor Swift already married?
Rumors circulating about Taylor Swift secretly tying the knot with her ex-boyfriend Joe Alwyn before their breakup have been vehemently denied by the singer’s longtime publicist, Tree Paine. Taking to social media, Paine addressed celebrity gossip Instagram account Deuxmoi, rebuking claims that the 12-time Grammy winner had a “marriage” ceremony in 2020 or 2021.
Paine’s statement on X read, “Enough is enough with these fabricated lies about Taylor from Deuxmoi. There was NEVER a marriage or ceremony of ANY kind. This is an insane thing to post. It’s time for you to be held accountable for the pain and trauma you cause with posts like these.”
Earlier on the same day, Deuxmoi shared an anonymous submission suggesting that Swift and the British actor secretly had a “marriage” ceremony in the UK in 2020 or 2021, though it was never legally formalized.
In response, Deuxmoi’s owner staunchly defended the claim on Instagram, declaring they would “die on this hill” and challenged critics to put it on their tombstone.
“I have no reason to lie, I could give a s–t what she does!!!!! I’m sorry she didn’t tell you guys about it in a song but just because she doesn’t sing about something doesn’t mean it didn’t happen!!!”
“Also, to relate something that is in reference to something that happened years ago to ‘pain & trauma’ after what just happened seems like a poor choice of words,” the response continued. “Either way, I apologize to Taylor.”
Swift’s ill-fated relationship with Alwyn was thrust into the spotlight again with the release of her song “You’re Losing Me,” widely believed by fans to be about the British actor.
After Paine’s public denouncement of the gossip site, Deuxmoi criticized the publicist’s “choice of words” and subsequently issued an apology to Taylor Swift. Despite claiming to make zero dollars from lying, the account’s owner acknowledged the inaccuracy and apologized to the singer.
Swift and Alwyn parted ways in April after six years of dating.
