On Saturday, a man was apprehended for allegedly attempting to break into Taylor Swift’s apartment in Tribeca, New York City.
According to a spokesperson for the New York Police Department, officers responded to a call about a “disorderly person” on Franklin Street. Upon arrival, it was reported that the individual had tried to open a door to a building at the location.
While the police did not confirm the man’s identity or specify that he was attempting to enter Swift’s residence, a separate source witnessed the suspect trying to access her place.
The eyewitness recalled seeing the individual around 1 p.m., approaching Taylor’s door. The source was uncertain whether the man knocked or rang the doorbell but mentioned observing him scouring the neighborhood, particularly around Swift’s residence, for a few weeks.

Another resident in the vicinity confirmed witnessing the same man “lurking here for a month,” engaging in disruptive behavior such as sleeping on the stoop, chain-smoking, shouting, and making residents uncomfortable. The individual allegedly stated, “I want to see Taylor,” when questioned about his presence.
Despite multiple calls to the police, no action was taken until the man attempted to enter the building. When law enforcement arrived at approximately 1:45 p.m., they spoke to the alleged stalker before eventually detaining him.
Taylor Swift, known for her hits like “You Belong With Me,” is expected to be at Highmark Stadium in upstate New York for her boyfriend Travis Kelce’s game against the Buffalo Bills on Sunday. However, her attendance has not been confirmed.
Swift has been working on new music in New York before embarking on the international leg of her Eras Tour in February. This incident is not the first time the Grammy-winning artist has faced stalking in the city; in 2019, another individual was arrested for attempting to break into her Tribeca residence.
