The sweet moment when Taylor Swift embraced her boyfriend Travis Kelce after his Super Bowl victory made headlines, but actor Paul Rudd cherishes his own embrace from Kelce on the field.
Rudd, a devoted Kansas City Chiefs fan, was on the field with the team following their thrilling overtime win against the San Francisco 49ers on February 11. Reflecting on the victory with MTV News, Rudd, 54, admitted to feeling high anxiety during the game.
“If I contributed to the win at all, it was by not disrupting any of the superstitious rituals I had in place. I believe the collective superstitions of all fans probably played a role in the victory,” he shared. “But I’ve been a huge fan of the team my whole life.”
When the Chiefs secured the win with a touchdown, Rudd and his son Jack, also a super fan at 17, were overwhelmed with joy.
“The feeling of elation when they won is truly indescribable. And to share that with my son…” Rudd expressed.
To cap off the memorable day, Rudd had the chance to embrace Kelce on the field.
“Travis Kelce is an amazing guy, truly. He’s been involved with a charity in Kansas City for years,” the Ghostbusters: Frozen Empire star praised.
“And to hug him right after a Super Bowl win, it’s surreal.” Rudd also confirmed his admiration for Kelce’s girlfriend, Swift, after attending one of her Eras Tour performances near New York City with his daughter Darby.

Dismissing claims that he’s merely a “proxy” fan due to his kids, Rudd affirmed his status as a genuine Swiftie.
“No, I genuinely think she’s great,” he affirmed, mentioning his favorite Swift songs. “I really enjoy ‘Mastermind,’ I sing that one a lot. ‘Cruel Summer,’ of course, like everyone else, right? ‘The Archer,’ perhaps? ‘August,’ maybe? I’m just going through the A’s, really.”
He confessed, however, that aside from Swift, his music preferences are a bit old-fashioned. “I listen to music from a bygone era, the same music my parents listened to,” he chuckled. “I’m not hip or up-to-date with what’s cool, but it’s not by choice, it’s because I’m old.”
