At first, this appeared to be no easy feat. Swifties are notoriously protective of their beloved artist, and their loyalty runs deep, to say the least. Initial reactions to Kelce weren’t entirely positive.
However, it seems that the tide is turning. Jeff Eisenberg of Yahoo Sports recently interviewed several diehard Swift fans to gauge their perception of Kelce and his relationship with Swift.
Surprisingly, they all seem to be warming up to the idea.
“Before this, I would say like 10% knew who Travis Kelce was,” Nick Adams, co-founder of “13: A Taylor Swift Fan Podcast” told Eisenberg.
“This is a guy who likes to be the center of the party,” Adams said, “and she’s never really dated anyone like that.”
However, Ginnie Low, who manages a TikTok account dedicated to all things Swift, shared with Eisenberg that she’s genuinely pleased for the music superstar.
“I really love this joy for her,” Low said. “I think it speaks volumes that she chose to go to the game in such a public way and that she looked like she was having the absolute best time while she was there.”
A public relations professional noted that Kelce managed to give Swift’s fans the acknowledgment they desired without making it seem like he was exploiting her for his own benefit when he discussed their relationship on his New Heights podcast with his brother Jason.
As for whether the two will last, that remains uncertain, but at least for the time being, Kelce seems to have the support of a crucial demographic.
