Fans are convinced that Taylor Swift dedicated a special mashup to her boyfriend, Travis Kelce, during her concert in Germany on Wednesday.
The Grammy winner seamlessly combined her songs “Invisible String” and “Superstar” while Kelce was in the audience at Veltins-Arena in Gelsenkirchen.
“Invisible String,” released in 2020, is about the fateful connection between two people, a song previously believed to be written about Swift’s ex-boyfriend Joe Alwyn. The lyrics reflect on the idea that an invisible thread ties two people together, despite time and distance:
“Time, curious time / Gave me no compasses, gave me no signs / Were there clues I didn’t see? / And isn’t it just so pretty to think / All along there was some / Invisible string / Tying you to me?”
“Superstar,” from 2009, tells the story of falling in love with a celebrity at the peak of his career, and was rumored to be about her ex-boyfriend Joe Jonas:
“And all the girls in the front row scream your name / So dim that spotlight / Tell me things like / ‘I can’t take my eyes off of you’ / I am no one special / Just another wide-eyed girl / Who’s desperately in love with you / Give me a photograph to hang on my wall / Superstar.”
Concertgoers quickly took to social media to share clips of the surprise medley, and fans at home were quick to theorize that Swift, 34, had performed the mashup as a serenade to Kelce.

One fan wrote on X, “The IMPLICATIONS of mashing up Superstar with Invisible String. The superstardom that tied them together for years before they met…the inevitability of their mutual awe for each other….but the ability to see each other clearly through the haze of fame anyway…I am unwell.”
Another fan gushed, “Taylor removed Invisible String from the setlist only 4 shows [into her Eras Tour] because it was too painful to sing… since she sang it tonight, it makes me believe that it doesn’t hurt to sing anymore because Travis IS her soulmate. She was always tied to him, it just took some time to find each other.”
Others highlighted the timing of the performance, noting Kelce’s upcoming training camp with the Kansas City Chiefs. “She really said this is Travis’s last show f–k it superstar x invisible string,” one fan remarked.
Social media was abuzz with comments like, “SUPERSTAR AND INVISIBLE STRING WITH TRAVIS IN THE AUDIENCE IM GOING TO RUN INTO TRAFFIC,” and “Superstar x Invisible String with Travis in the audience… nobody talk to me.”
Swift’s fans have previously speculated that she dedicated other songs to Kelce during her concerts. At her Amsterdam show earlier this month, she mashed up “Mary’s Song (Oh My My My),” “So High School,” and “Everything Has Changed,” leading fans to believe it was a tribute to him. Kelce was even seen wiping away tears during the performance on July 7.
Kelce traveled to Germany just days before he had to return to Kansas City, Missouri, for training camp. He was seen watching Swift’s performance and waving to fans from a private suite during the show.
After the concert, the couple was spotted leaving together, displaying affectionate gestures.
With these heartfelt performances, Swift continues to capture the imagination and emotions of her fans, who eagerly interpret her music and actions as reflections of her relationship with Kelce.
