Taylor Swift can’t seem to escape the trolls.
Taylor Swift faced criticism and backlash from some NFL fans for doing the “Swag Surf” at Arrowhead Stadium during a recent Chiefs game. The rappers behind the 2009 hit, “Swag Surfin,” Fast Life Yungstaz a.k.a. F.L.Y., defended her in response to the internet’s reaction.
One member of F.L.Y. addressed the criticism, emphasizing that “Swag Surfin” was created for everyone to enjoy, and people should understand that it’s a song meant for everyone to turn up to.
“And as far as the Internet’s reaction, it’s a lot of people that is very protective of Swag Surfin, but everybody gotta know that’s a song we made for everybody, everybody can turn up to it,” via TMZ.

Interestingly, F.L.Y. had a positive outcome from the controversy, as their streaming numbers increased by a significant 700% after Taylor Swift’s viral moment. They even expressed openness to Swift creating her own version of the song, jokingly suggesting a “Taylor’s Version” with her rapping.
Criticism appears to follow Taylor Swift in various aspects related to the NFL, but F.L.Y. seems appreciative of the exposure and the boost in their music streams.
Maybe Taylor Swift will showcase her Swag Surfing skills on Super Bowl Sunday.
