How much would you pay for a chair?
A folding chair that Iowa Hawkeyes women’s basketball star Caitlin Clark sat in during the Big Ten Conference Tournament has sold for a ludicrous price at an auction.
Earlier it was reported that the chair being auctioned off was only at $156 with four days remaining.

Well, somebody really wanted a chair as this piece of “memorabilia” sold for $3,722, as listed on TheRealest.com.
Here’s the listed description on the website:
“2024 TIAA B1G Basketball Tournament player bench folding chair used during the Women’s Basketball Tournament. Chair was sat in by Iowa WBB player #22 during pre-game introductions before the championship game. This chair was also used by the Fighting Illini during the ’24 TIAA B1G Mens Basketball Tournament Championship game on March 17th, 2024.”
One pressing question is, “Would this chair have been more valuable if only Caitlin Clark had sat in it and not a member of the Illinois Fighting Illini men’s basketball team?”
This will certainly be the final chair that Clark sits during the Big Ten Conference Tournament as she is now heading to the WNBA following Iowa’s National Championship loss to South Carolina on Sunday afternoon.
NCAA basketball’s all-time leading point scorer will very likely be the first overall selection in the upcoming WNBA draft, and it remains to be seen how much people are willing to pay for the WNBA chairs that she sits in.
