Golden State Warriors head coach Steve Kerr recently defended Draymond Green following criticism of the star player.
Kerr spoke on “Willard & Dibs” on 95.7 The Game shortly after the Warriors were knocked out of playoff contention by a 118-94 loss to the Sacramento Kings in the play-in game.
During the interview, Kerr was questioned about the fanbase’s frustration with Green, who had shown problematic behavior throughout the season (at the 24:11 mark in the interview).
Acknowledging Green’s shortcomings, Kerr encouraged fans to appreciate the contributions Green has made to the team over the past decade.
“Consider yourselves lucky to have had Draymond Green for 12 years, during which we won four championships and made two additional finals appearances,” Kerr said.
“Draymond is working on becoming his best self. I support him fully, as does our entire organization, because we love him, and I believe our fans feel the same.”

Green faced multiple suspensions during the season for various physical and verbal incidents.
A mere three games separated the 10th-ranked Warriors from the 6th-ranked Phoenix Suns in the regular season standings.
Green’s suspensions might have been a key factor in the Warriors’ early exit from the play-ins, potentially costing them a direct playoff berth in the competitive Western Conference.
Despite Green’s issues this season, another Warriors player faced even more criticism after the team’s departure from the play-in games.
