Steph Curry is shooting his shot to be President one day?
Golden State Warriors’ sharpshooter Stephen Curry recently hinted at the possibility of venturing into politics in the future, although he currently holds no concrete aspirations for political office.
In an interview with CBS Mornings, Curry expressed openness to the idea of running for the nation’s highest office under one condition, if it offered him a platform to effect positive change in people’s lives.
‘Maybe, I have an interest in leveraging every part of my influence for good in the way that I can,’ Curry told CBS Mornings when asked if he could envision himself running for President some day.
‘So, if that’s the way to do it, then – I’m not going to say the presidency but if politics is a way that you can create meaningful change or if there’s another way outside of politics.’
Curry’s discussion of political engagement coincided with his promotion of his latest project, a children’s book titled “I Am Extraordinary,” which aims to instill the value of self-worth in young readers.

While Curry remains focused on his basketball career, his contemplation of political involvement aligns with the trajectory of other NBA figures who have transitioned into politics. Notably, Enes Kanter Freedom, a former NBA center, intends to pursue political office in 2028, and New York Knicks legend Bill Bradley served as a US senator from New Jersey for nearly two decades.
Curry and his wife Ayesha are deeply committed to philanthropic endeavors, particularly in supporting underprivileged children and advocating for racial equality. Their involvement in charitable initiatives reflects Curry’s desire to make a meaningful impact beyond the basketball court.
Notably, Curry’s outspokenness on social and political issues has drawn both praise and criticism. His public stance on matters such as racial equality, exemplified by kneeling during the national anthem in support of the Black Lives Matter movement, has garnered widespread attention and occasionally sparked controversy.
