Stephen A. Smith is practically frothing at the mouth for Shannon Sharpe.
Stephen A. Smith has expressed his desire to have Shannon Sharpe join him on ESPN’s “First Take.”
Addressing the rumors of the potential move, Smith teased his Twitter followers about upcoming news and hinted at serious talks about bringing Sharpe onto the show.
He expressed his admiration for Sharpe and his desire to give him a platform to shine.
“Look for me on Friday, Folks! I’ll be addressing all the things I need to address,” he tweeted.
“I’m not going to tell you it’s true, but I’m not going to tell you it’s not,” Smith said slyly on his YouTube channel about Sharpe joining the show.
“Yeah, the talks are serious. I want this brother on ‘First Take’… I want him to have a shinier light placed on him than a few of the times we last saw him,” he continued.
The rumors are right.

Sharpe, a Hall of Fame tight end, has also hinted at a career announcement and expressed his openness to collaborating with Smith. This move would be significant for Sharpe, who currently hosts a podcast with a large subscriber base on YouTube.
While Smith prefers to have rotating co-hosts rather than a permanent partner, he is hopeful that Sharpe will eventually join “First Take.”
The strained relationship between Sharpe and his former co-host Skip Bayless, particularly following a controversial tweet by Bayless, led Smith to believe that Sharpe would not be staying on “Undisputed” for much longer.
Sharpe Versus Stephen A. should be fun to watch.
