Steph Curry appeared destined to play the hero on Saturday until LeBron James dashed his hopes of a triumphant night.
In a double-overtime clash at Chase Center in San Francisco, California, the Golden State Warriors fell short 145-144 against the Los Angeles Lakers.
As the final buzzer sounded, Curry visibly expressed his frustration, tearing his jersey apart. This marked the Warriors’ second consecutive one-point defeat, leaving Curry disheartened as he left the court.

Despite the disappointing outcome, Curry had a stellar performance throughout the game, amassing 46 points, 7 assists, and 9 three-pointers on 17/35 shooting from the field. Notably, he contributed 10 points in the final overtime, including the last made field goal that momentarily put the Warriors ahead by one point with just over five seconds remaining.
The second overtime appeared to set the stage for a storybook ending for Curry. However, LeBron James intervened, rewriting the conclusion. With 5.2 seconds left, James drove into the paint, drew a foul, and secured two free throws, ultimately clinching the victory for the Lakers.
James showcased an impressive performance, tallying a career-high 20 rebounds against the Warriors, in addition to 36 points, 12 assists, and the crucial go-ahead free throws with a second left.
Despite Curry’s outstanding display, the Warriors have now suffered four losses in their last five games.
