Stephen Curry is widely regarded as one of the greatest basketball players in NBA history, particularly known for his exceptional shooting skills, which may deem him the greatest shooter of all time.
However, for a particular generation of basketball enthusiasts, Curry’s ascent to stardom positions him as the greatest of all time (GOAT) in their eyes, much like LeBron James and Michael Jordan were considered for previous generations.
During an interview with Willie Geist on Today, Curry expressed his belief that the GOAT debate should be viewed through a generational lens, as definitively determining the GOAT is virtually impossible.
He mentioned, “I believe that there can be multiple GOATs. This isn’t a cop-out answer, but comparing players from different eras is incredibly challenging. Engaging in discussions about how Michael Jordan would perform in today’s era or how LeBron James would fare in the past is inherently unfair. It’s an entertaining debate, much like the discussions one might have in a barbershop, and it’s something that will continue indefinitely.”
This is one of those debates that doesn’t make much sense because they really didn’t play in the same era.
If you had one NBA Finals series to play and you had to pick either LeBron or Jordan, who would you pick?
