Steph Curry may just be a fan of the movie Mean Girls.
Stranger than the Golden State Warriors squandering an exceptional performance by Steph Curry on Saturday night was the surprising recipient of Curry’s game-worn jersey afterward.
During Saturday’s face-off against the Atlanta Hawks, Curry reached a new level, scoring an impressive 60 points with ten three-pointers, just two points shy of his career-high of 62 (achieved in 2021 against the Portland Trail Blazers). This accomplishment also placed him among the elite group of only ten players in NBA history with multiple 60-point games.
Regrettably for The Chef, his phenomenal display wasn’t enough to secure a victory, as the Warriors succumbed to a 141-134 defeat in overtime, bringing their season record to 21-25. Nevertheless, Curry demonstrated generosity post-game by choosing an unexpected celebrity in the front row to receive his jersey—none other than actress Lindsay Lohan.
A video captures Curry posing with Lohan and her husband Bader Shammas, with the basketball star seemingly having signed the jersey for the couple.
Interestingly, Curry had approached Lohan before the game, engaging in a brief conversation with the former MVP.
The pairing of Curry and Lohan may seem improbable, like a scenario from “Mad Libs,” especially considering Lohan’s Bronx roots rather than a Bay Area connection. However, this unusual connection has a surprising rationale—Lohan stars in a Netflix movie titled “Irish Wish,” scheduled for release next month, where Curry’s wife, Ayesha, has a supporting role.
While many Warriors fans were likely disappointed with the game’s outcome, Lohan, known for her roles in “Mean Girls” and her experience socializing with famous athletes, undoubtedly left with a unique piece of sports memorabilia to cherish.
